Diagnostic Analysis of Silicon Strips Detector Readout in the ATLAS Semi-Conductor Tracker Module Production
The ATLAS Semi-Conductor Tracker (SCT) Collaboration is currently in the production phase of fabricating and testing silicon strips modules for the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider being built at the CERN laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland. A small but relevant percentage of ICs developed a new set of defects after being mounted on hybrids that were not detected in the wafer screening...
متن کاملConstruction of the ATLAS semi-conductor tracker (SCT) barrel modules in Japan
We have developed a semi-automated assembly system and constructed 124 silicon microstrip modules so far for the ATLAS SCT barrel. This article describes the assembly procedure, evaluations of precisions and the module survey results. A precision of B2 mm is achievable with this assembly system. r 2003 Elsevier B.V.
ATLAS Silicon Microstrip Semiconductor Tracker (SCT)
The large hadron collider (LHC) is under construction at CERN, using the existing LEP tunnel of 27 km circumference, in order to accelerate protons to 7 TeV and to make head-on collisions at the center-of-mass energy of 14 TeV with a luminosity of 10 34 cm -2 s -1 [1]. The ATLAS detector, one of the two major general purpose detectors in LHC, was approved as an experiment in 1994 and is planned...
متن کاملSilicon Tracker Module Assembly at UCSB
This note details the infrastructure deployed and developed at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) to handle the construction of CMS Silicon Tracker modules for the outer barrel and endcap. Capacity has been developed to assemble and wirebond 15 modules per day and in addition to wirebond 30 hybrids. Early results and experiences of production are also given. In the £rst substa...
